The ECSSR’s Scientific Research Diploma to Begin Next Week

The 17th Scientific Research Diploma program will commence at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) in Abu Dhabi early next week. The program is part of the training conducted by the Training and Continuous Development Department, in line with the ECSSR’s efforts to enhance research and scientific skills as well as training and administrative experience, and to develop human resources. The program is catered towards the ECSSR’s employees, both Emiratis and residents. The academic course of this Diploma contains scientific curricula focusing on applicable subjects within relevant specializations. The Diploma will be completed in May 2020.

A significant achievement of the ECSSR, the diploma program combines both theory and practice and keeps abreast of state-of-the-art methodologies in the above training fields. These include methods and techniques in training and education. It also adopts a methodology built on a number of interactive methods and components including lectures, individual and group hands-on exercises, case studies, mini projects, brainstorming, group discussions and presentation methods. All these are designed to develop trainees’ creativity, innovation and excellence.

The ECSSR’s training course this year is the “Scientific Research Diploma,” where an employee will dedicate eight hours a day to the course, through nine-month full-time study. During the course, a student will be introduced to scientific research methods in political, economic, social and strategic sciences. A student will also be required to write a scientific research paper on the basis of the scientific methodology he will learn throughout the Diploma.

As part of its structure, the ECSSR has created a Training and Continuous Development Department to draw on the empowerment strategy whose foundations were laid down by H.H. Shiekh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (may God protect him) in 2005. The strategy aims to empower Emiratis with necessary assets to become more engaged and involved in the social, political, productive and knowledge spheres of life. The Training and Continuous Development Department meets the needs and requirements of all trainees, both within and outside of the ECSSR, by formulating outstanding work schemes and training programs, and adopting cutting-edge educational methods and techniques.
