The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) hosted a graduation ceremony for the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair Overhaul Center (AMMROC), marking the successful graduation of the second cohort of UAE students from AMMROC’s practical training program. The ceremony was held on Monday, February 9, 2015, in the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Hall at the ECSSR office complex in Abu Dhabi.
The ceremony began with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. His Excellency Brigadier General Engineer Fahed Ghareeb Al-Shamsi, Chief Executive Officer of AMMROC, delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness regarding the graduation of the technical students: “Today, we are overwhelmed with joy seeing our sons as they embark on a career in one of the most complex industries – the aviation industry – especially as the number of graduates has multiplied thanks to the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE (may Allah protect him) and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the follow-up and guidance of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.”
His Excellency urged graduating students to increase their efforts in their practical careers in order to serve the United Arab Emirates, raise its flag, and embody the vision of its wise leadership to achieve comprehensive, sustainable and knowledge-based development.
A speech was also delivered on behalf of Mr. Omar Salem Al Ameri, Vice CEO for Human Resources and Administrative Affairs at AMMROC, in which he reiterated the importance of qualifying UAE youth to become involved in technology and microelectronic industries, as part of a process of nationalizing these industries.
His Excellency Brigadier General Engineer Al-Shamsi honored His Excellency Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director General of the ECSSR, represented by Mr. Ali Jamal Al Amari, Acting Assistant to the Deputy Director General for Community Service Affairs – in appreciation for the efforts expended by His Excellency and the ECSSR to serve the UAE community and implement the wise vision and empowerment strategy of the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President.
His Excellency Brigadier General Engineer Al-Shamsi awarded certificates to all of the graduate students, including those of the Secondary Technical Schools located in Abu Dhabi (22 students), Al Ain (23 students), Dubai (16 students), Ajman (27 students), Ras Al-Khaimah (27 students), and Fujairah (24 students).
H.E. Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director General of the ECSSR, expressed his appreciation for the honor he received from AMMROC. He said that it brought him great happiness to witness this group of young people engaging in the various fields of sustainable development in the UAE—particularly in such a sophisticated industry. He noted that by acquiring technical skills and successfully graduating, they were translating into reality the national human development goals of the “empowerment” strategy launched by the UAE President, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (May Allah protect him), to secure the glory of the nation and the pride of its people. He said that this strategy, followed-up by his Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, should take priority in the process of development and modernization of all aspects of life in the UAE.
Dr. Al-Suwaidi invoked the words of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May Allah bless his soul), who said that investing in national human resources was the most important of acts, and stressed the importance of cooperation, coordination and integration among all state institutions in order to invest younger generations with the experience to establish the knowledge society we all strive for.
