Taryam Honoured with Federal Personality Award

Dr Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), has presented the Federal Personality Award, in its third edition, which is granted by General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and President of the ECSSR, to distinguished Emirati personalities in recognition of their national role in serving the federal objectives of the UAE.

This year’s list of winners of the Federal Personality Award included the late Taryam Omran Taryam, founder of Al Khaleej newspaper in 1970. The award was received on his behalf by Khalid Abdullah, Chairman of Dar Al Khaleej Press, Printing and Publishing and Editor-in-Chief of Al Khaleej newspaper. The honouring ceremony, which was attended by Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Federal National Council (FNC) Speaker, came as part of the ECSSR’s celebration of its 20th anniversary.

The list of honoured personalities also included Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Co-operation and Development, Dr Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council, First Deputy Speaker of the FNC and Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Rashid Abdullah Al Nuaimi, former Minister of the Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim Abdul Rahman Al Abed, Director General of the National Media Council, retired General Khalfan Matar Al Rumaithi, escort of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Dr Abdullah Nasser Bin Sultan Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to Amman, Dr Abdul Rahim Abdul Latif Shahin, FNC Member, Dr Ali Qassim Al Shuaibi, a UAE academician and media man, Saif Salem Ghanem Al Mansouri, winner of the sixth edition of Million’s Poet, And Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Deputy Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs at ECSSR.
