UAE’s Wise Leadership and its Common Objective
- 31 July 2014
The reception given by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, welcoming Their Highnesses Members of the UAE Supreme Council, Their Highnesses Crown Princes, and Deputy Rulers of the Emirates, on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr is a kind gesture, which has many significance and shows the qualities of the country’s wise leadership.
This is significant because of the absolute trust in the UAE’s approach, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God protect him), in local and foreign arenas. Their Highnesses Rulers of Emirates emphasized this while expressing their pride at His Highness’s wise leadership and efforts made by him to raise status of the UAE and enhance its role on Arab, regional and international levels. The meeting on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr is significant as it is part of the leadership’s efforts to communicate directly with citizens to nurture the development goals of the country. The meeting also indicates that the leadership always oversees the UAE’s march toward progress to the top in all fields.
The meeting suggests that our wise leadership, through the country’s institutions at different levels, works to achieve an essential objective, which is to raise the status of our homeland and improve quality of life of the UAE citizens. The common objectives set for each citizen, including development matching regional and international standards, has been reached thanks to the overarching structure of unity established in 1971 by Founder of the UAE, the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God bless his soul). Relying on the solid foundations of this federation, the UAE is today competing with great nations. The country is extremely confident of achieving the objective of being featured among top nations by its 50th anniversary, based on the ‘UAE Vision 2021’.
Most theories point to one essential principle, which states that a wise leadership is the most significant element for the success of any development model. The key for progress in any society is the good management of its material and human resources and immaculate planning. The UAE’s pioneering development experience – both in foundation stage (1971-2004) and empowerment stage which started in 2005 – is evidence of this principle. The UAE is blessed by a wise, inspiring and motivating leadership that gives top priority to the interests of the country and its citizens and makes them the focus of planning and national development.
