The Scoop Empire magazine has released a comprehensive report highlighting the seven qualities world leaders should learn from Founder of the UAE, the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (may God bless his soul), if they want their countries to follow the UAE model. These are also the attributes inherited by the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God protect him), his brothers, Their Highnesses, Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

According to Scoop Empire, these qualities have contributed to the UAE’s rise to its present level of cultural, social, economic and humanitarian progress. In fact, it was not surprising that the website headline said: “Thanks to the integrity and vision of Sheikh Zayed and his successors, in short of half a century, the UAE has taken the world by storm. If only [country] were like this,” is a phrase we hear a lot in the UAE. We think a few of the worlds ‘leaders’ could learn a few things from this great man,” it added. Following are the seven qualities highlighted by the magazine.

  1. Vision: Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, also known as the ‘Father of the Nation’, expressed his love and respect for traditional values, the environment and applied it to the nation.
  2. Put your country first: No one can deny that the UAE is where it is today because Sheikh Zayed put the UAE’s best interests first. “Unlike many corrupt leaders, Sheikh Zayed’s initiatives were always for the nation. HRH (High Royal Highness) took a Bedouin desert land and transformed it into one of the biggest hubs of the world,” the magazine said.
  3. The website highlighted the need to ‘love and respect your people’. Sheikh Zayed (may God bless his soul) enjoyed love and respect of his people and the world due to his commitment to human values. He inherited cultural traditions, and provided social and economic welfare for all; citizens and residents.
  4. Foreign Relations: “The world doesn’t mess with the UAE. They’ve managed to place themselves in a powerful position that is both respected, a little intimidating and yet liked. Sheikh Zayed made sure that the UAE stands up for its beliefs in the global forum, while maintaining positive diplomatic ties,” the magazine said.
  5. Tolerance: It also highlighted the manifestations of tolerance and respect for other’s right as enshrined in the UAE Constitution, which Sheikh Zayed ensured.
  6. Respect for rules: Sheikh Zayed (may God bless his soul) was keen to ensure that the judiciary remains independent, fair, just, and puts mercy above the law.
  7. Humility: Sheikh Zayed was known for his humility and generosity, which are also common among his successors.

Scoop Empire mentions His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, having lunch at the DIFC and inviting those around him. It also mentions His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, being spotted sitting next to a little girl who is lost and waiting until her father comes to pick her up, expressing happiness over what he witnessed.
