Caring for the people and improving services available to them are at the top of the list of priorities for the wise leadership headed by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God protect him) who believes that investing in Emiratis is the best investment in the present and future of the country. That is because no progress can be made without human resource that actively participates in the country’s march towards development. Several initiative and projects have focused on the welfare of the people with the most recent being projects ratified by the committee following up the implementation of His Highness’s initiatives related to the lives and livelihood of the people.

A quick look at these projects establishes several basic facts. First, they are spread across many regions in the country and are meant to fulfill basic needs of the people whether in terms of internal roads in Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain or housing units for the people of Ras Al Khaimah. This shows that the wise leadership is keen to achieve comprehensive progress across all Emirates so that all the people benefit from the development taking place at all levels. Second, these projects target all segments of the Emirati society, which is evident from the committee ratifying establishment of the Ajman Club for Handicapped.

These projects are aligned to the inclusive and sustainable social welfare the country is keen to ensure for the handicapped that are considered partners in the development of society. Third, the feelings of joy and satisfaction with these initiatives highlight how close the wise leadership in the UAE is to the people when they cater to their needs and demands. Such happiness is the outcome of policies and plans that aim to help Emiratis and enhance their abilities in areas such as modern education, advanced healthcare, network of social security, and a services sector, which ensures satisfaction at all levels.

Speaking during the 43rd National Day celebration in December 02, 2014, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God protect him) said that the government is always keen to make people happy, maintain their dignity and protect their rights. “Our government allocated almost half of the resources of the federal budget for the fiscal year 2015 to fund the development and social benefits sectors. These sectors are all about improving the quality of life of the people and ensuring the stability of the family which is the cornerstone of the country,” he said. This manifests itself in the initiatives announced throughout the year and revolves around one goal, happiness and welfare of Emirati citizens.
