H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Made UAE the Most Wonderful Arab Nation

  • 5 January 2014

In response to the ‘Thank You, Khalifa’ initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – in recognition and appreciation of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God protect him) – residents of the UAE have tweeted in large numbers describing their country as ‘the most wonderful and best Arab and Gulf state’. The residents have also hailed the tremendous efforts made by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to achieve progress and take the UAE to the league of advanced nations.

A positive response coming in from UAE residents – both Arabs and non-Arabs – and from those outside the country drives home two basic facts. President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is setting an example for the whole world on the relationship between leadership and its people by dedicating his time and efforts to the welfare of citizens and responding to their needs. This was highlighted by His Excellency Dr. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), who said that the ‘Thank You, Khalifa’ initiative in honor of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has set an example for all the leaders of the world to closely engage with their people.

The UAE’s experiment with politics, governance and development has attracted worldwide attention to the UAE’s accomplishments, he said. The message that the UAE is the ‘the most wonderful and best Arab and Gulf state’ is not merely a social media phenomenon but has been validated by various reports on Arab youth trends and opinions. The UAE was seen by Arab youth as ‘the best place to live’, according to Burson-Marsteller’s fifth annual Arab Youth Survey (2012), which was a repeat of the results of 2011.

Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah topped the list of ‘best cities to live in the Middle East’ according to a Bayt.com survey conducted in collaboration with market research company YouGov International, released in 2012. These achievements are the result of a wise leadership with a clear vision for the present and the future. They are the benefits of socio-political stability in the UAE, an ultra-modern infrastructure, values based on moderation, tolerance and openness, a system of justice based on the rule of law and responsiveness that adapts to latest developments.
