Building the Future of the UAE
- 6 September 2014
The great achievements made by the UAE under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan (may God save him), and the improvement in its ranking in global competitiveness from 18th last year to 12th this year as per Global Competitiveness Report released by World Economic Forum 2014–15, show that the country can build its own future.
This was stated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai (may God protect him), while receiving sheikhs, ministers, heads of government departments and entities as well as senior officials. During the meeting His Highness pointed out that the UAE’s every achievement is an output of cooperation between the leadership, people and the government.
“We, leadership, government, entities and people, are capable of building a promising future for our next generations and we have the merit to reach glory with determination and dedication,” His Highness said. He affirmed that achievements made by the UAE wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of the sons and daughters of the country.
In addition to the clear vision for the present and the future, strengthening human and material national resources, and investing them in the best possible manner, the UAE is also ensuring that its future depends on knowledge and scientific advancement. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that the country aspires to reach to the stars not by power but through science, knowledge and strong will.
Rapid progress made by the UAE has shown that achievements based on scientific planning can earn the country top global ranks. The UAE goes beyond mere wishes to put in place plans and strategies to be implemented in specific time, which balances ambition with ability. It doesn’t try to deal with things only from a logical perspective but takes serious initiative and shows willingness to deal with global developments, and tackle regional and domestic challenges.
This was evident in the way the country has handled power, water and other infrastructure sectors. Even after accomplishing most global achievements, our wise leadership is keen to maintain that the challenge is still present and that aspirations continue to soar high. Seeking greater achievements needs making greater efforts. The secret behind success of the UAE’s wise leadership has been that it doesn’t consider success as the end of the road but looks at it as a platform for greater heights.
