Prof. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali is an Emirati doctor, researcher and consultant in arrhythmia and cardiovascular diseases. He is a member of the Emirates Scientists Council, an advisory body to the UAE Cabinet; a member of Dubai Future Councils; and is Chair of the Scientific Advisory Group for the Dubai COVID-19 Command and Control Center. Prof. Alawi is Provost of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), and is Dean of MBRU’s College of Medicine, where he is also a professor of cardiovascular medicine.

Prof. Alsheikh-Ali has conducted a broad range of studies in the field of arrhythmia and cardiac care in the Arabian Gulf region, and has published more than 160 research articles and peer-reviewed scientific papers in international journals. He has received many awards in recognition of his academic and research activities, including the Rashid Award for Academic Excellence, the Abu Dhabi Medical Distinction Award in Clinical Research, the Martin J. Loeb Memorial Prize in Medicine, and the Louis Lasagna Graduate Student Award in Translational Research from Tufts University in Boston.
