Dr. Abdeddayem Sellami, a Tunisian academic and literary critic, holds a Ph.D. degree in contemporary Arabic literature. His thesis is titled ‘The Sacred in the Modern Arabic Novel: Types, Usage and Violations’. He has published a number of books on literature: Controversial Texts (2020), Churches of Criticism (2018), The Logic of the Irrational in the Contemporary Arabic Novel (2011) and The Poetics of Reality in Short Stories (2007). He also contributed to the translation of Roland Barthes’ Writing Degree Zero - Followed by New Critical Essays (2019). Furthermore, he has had articles published in Arabic intellectual journals and has contributed to literary awards committees.
