CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, United Arab Emirates
His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb is CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF) and also heads its board of advisors. He is a board member at Dubai Media Incorporated, is a member of the Executive Committee of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, and is Vice Chairman of the UAE National Curriculum Development Committee. He is a member of the advisory board of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Sharjah University, as well as at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, UAE University. He was appointed member of the Global Leadership Council at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. He is also a member of the UAE’s Arabic Language Advisory Council and the Advisory Council of Zewail City of Science and Technology, Egypt.
A UAE historian and scholar, His Excellency bin Huwaireb has a great deal of experience, documenting the cultural and creative movement in the emirate of Dubai, the UAE and wider GCC region. Moreover, he has taken on responsibility for numerous cultural tasks and has particular interests in folk poetry, the oral literary tradition and literature on Arab and Islamic heritage.
For the eighth consecutive year, he researched and presented popular television show 'Al Rawi' (The Narrator) during the holy month of Ramadan on Dubai TV. His Excellency is an active member of the literary movement on the local and regional cultural scene. He has made many important cultural contributions and achievements, including a series of diverse works of poetry, literature and history, as well as works on education. He has also authored and edited several books.
