His Excellency Dr. Saeed Khalfan Al Dhaheri earned his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the United Arab Emirates University in 1987. The following year, he received a Diploma in Space Science from the International Space University, and went on to earn Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from George Washington University in 1990 and Drexel University in 1994, respectively.

Dr. Al Dhaheri is a renowned Emirati figure in the world of technology, with almost 30 years’ experience in the use of technology in the UAE’s public and private sectors. Various positions he has held during his career  include, Founding Director General of the Emirates Identity Authority, a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the UAE Space Agency, Advisor to His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Information Systems, and a member of the Global Future Councils.

He currently holds several positions, including Director of the Center for Futures Studies at the University of Dubai, and is a visiting lecturer specializing in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Oxford.

Dr. Al Dhaheri has taken part in the evaluation of a number of national and international awards for government excellence, governance, smart cities, and Artificial Intelligence. His many publications include, Digital Nation: How the United Arab Emirates is Building a Future Based on Tech Innovation, and he is a regular contributor to specialized scientific journals, such as Harvard Business Review Arabia.
