Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in UAE

H.E. Ambassador Ni Jian joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in 1996 as Deputy Division Director and later Director for West Asian and North African Affairs. In 2001, he was posted to Israel, where he served as Political Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy for one year, before joining the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps in the Hetian Administration as Deputy Director General.
In 2006, Ambassador Ni Jian was appointed Deputy Director-General of the General Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, and in 2008 became Consul General at the Chinese Consulate-General in Manchester. In 2014, after serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Iraq for three years, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Mission and Minister at the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom.
H.E. Ambassador Ni Jian became Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China in the United Arab Emirates in 2016, and is currently based in Abu Dhabi.
