Mohammad Bin Zayed encourages scientific research: Mohammad receives delegations from Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research and Rahma Society

The UAE is pressing ahead with supporting and encouraging scientific research because it is aware of its importance during the current phase that the Arab and Islamic World is going through.
The statement was made yesterday (Tuesday) by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, when he received at Al Bahr Palace a delegation from the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR). The delegation was led by Dr Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ECSSR.
Shaikh Mohammad was briefed on the studies and strategic research performed by the centre and their outcomes pertaining to a number of regional and international issues, as well as efforts to achieve the centre’s goals.
Shaikh Mohammad emphasised that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is aware of the importance of scientific research as a key method for achieving growth, progress and sustainable development. He hailed the role of ECSSR in enriching scientific research in various scientific studies in the field of politics, economy, strategy and military, as well as its role in organising conferences, lectures and seminars to spread awareness and knowledge in the community on a number of issues that concern the UAE.
Later, Shaikh Mohammad received a delegation from the Cancer Patient Care Society (Rahma), also led by Al Suwaidi, Director-General of ECSSR and Chairman of Rahma.
Shaikh Mohammad reaffirmed that the UAE is keen on developing the healthcare sector and providing the best form of medical care for Emiratis. He praised the efforts of Rahma and similar societies who provide care for cancer patients and their families, and work on spreading awareness in communities about cancer.
Shaikh Mohammad then acquainted himself with the goals of the society and its role in providing care for patients. Al Suwaidi said that Rahma operates as per precise criteria and regulations to ensure that it is achieving its goals.
He pointed out that at the forefront of these goals is bolstering community partnerships in order to develop the standard of health and psychological care provided to cancer patients.
Al Suwaidi said that the society also works on raising awareness on the dangers of cancer and factors that may cause it, in addition to offering a comprehensive database on the best cancer treatment centres in the region and around the world.
