KUNA Chief Visits UAE Research Center, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al Du'aij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah and his accompanying delegation visited Thursday the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Sheikh Mubarak and his party toured different sections of the ECSSR and spoke to staff and directors about the nature of their work.

Later Sheikh Mubarak held talks with Director General of the ECSSR Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi over prospects of cooperation between KUNA and the ECSSR. Sheikh Mubarak ascribed the ECSSR as one of the most professional and credible research centers in the region. He shed light on the deeply-seated relations between the Kuwaiti and Emirati leadership and people.

For his part, Al-Suwaidi welcomed Sheikh Mubarak and his accompanying delegation's visit to the United Arab Emirates and ECSSR in particular. He made a presentation to Sheikh Mubarak about the main publications of the center and presented him copies of some of them.

Al-Suwaidi welcomed cooperation with KUNA, adding that the center invites considerable number of Kuwaiti intellectuals, researchers and public figures to participate in its conferences, seminars and forums etc. He pointed out that the UAE has strong and historic relations with Kuwait.

Sheikh Mubarak also visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque where he was received by Director of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center (SZGMC) Yousif Al Obaidli. The KUNA Chief toured the mosque and center, expressed great admiration of the impressive architectural design of the Islamic edifice. He stated that Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has become one of the main tourist destinations in the Arab Gulf region and the focus of many tourism journalists.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates and the eighth largest in the world. The mosque site is equivalent to the size of five football fields approximately. Sheikh Mubarak visited the tomb of late leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
