The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) hosted ID WORLD Abu Dhabi 2013, the sixth annual EMEA Summit on security, mobility and traceability from 11-12 February 2013. The conference, held under the patronage of His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior – was endorsed by Emirates Identity Authority and European Commission and was organized by Wise Media.

The conference featured three ID World Forums – Citizen ID Forum, Transportation Security Forum and Asset Tracking Forum. The EMEA event on ICT-driven innovation within citizen-centric services analyzed global trends on border control, global migration and anti-counterfeiting measures. It is also deliberated on radio-frequency identification (RFID), biometrics, smart cards and data collection.

An exclusive world-class networking event for the public and private sectors was also organized during the event. During the conference, issues and challenges surrounding modern ICT infrastructures and identification schemes were discussed, illustrating their impact on today’s societies in terms of security, mobility and traceability.
