The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) hosted a forum on autism at its Office Complex in Abu Dhabi on Monday and Tuesday (21-22 April 2014). The forum was organized by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Autism under the auspices of the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs. This was part of the ECSSR’s efforts to participate in activities in support of the special needs community.

The forum included lectures and activities that were aimed to inform participants regarding the challenges posed by autism and also discussed ways to deal with the ailment. It sought to sensitize people in the society about the problems faced by those suffering from autism. The forum highlighted the need for greater social responsibility to make the life of its patients easier and integrate them into the society.
