UAE – India Relations

  • 10 October 2018

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have historically enjoyed close relations, with the past three years seeing a unique shift in the depth of the relationship.  In 2015, the two countries signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement. The results of this agreement are being seen in the augmented partnership in the energy sector, increased investment flows, active defense exchanges, a potential food security partnership, and extensive cultural and people-to-people connections. In addition, new horizons are opening up in areas like cybersecurity, countering violent extremism, cooperation between space agencies, and collaboration between think tanks. The lecture will focus on the new dynamic of an old relationship and chart out a roadmap for the future.
