  • 4 - 7 April 2011

The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research is hosting the 31st Conference of the Arab Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers, under the theme ““Enrollment and Registration: Quality and Accreditation Standards”.

The aim of the conference is to provide an interactive forum for improved understanding of the way quality and accreditation standards are shaping enrollment and registration services in the Arab world.

The conference, which has drawn local and international participation, provides a unique opportunity for Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers to confer and discuss enrollment and registration matters. In addition to the aforementioned theme, the conference is deliberating on other areas of interest including expected competencies for 21st century college students, trends in the admission requirements for acceptance into graduate programs, the role of universities in shaping students’ knowledge and combating absenteeism and failure in education.

The Director-General of the ECSSR, His Excellency Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, highlighted the importance of this conference in that it provides an opportunity for educational experts from several Arab universities to meet in one place to discuss the terms of admission and registration in the various universities—particularly the standards, experiences, ideas and initiatives, and attempt to avoid problems faced by some students who migrate from one country to the other for studies. He hoped the conference would come up with logical and coherent ideas, proposals and mechanisms to serve as the basis for correlation of various courses.
