UAE Security: Scenarios for the Coming Decade

security is especially volatile. The UAE is wealthy and
reasonably secure, so any changes to the current status
quo are likely to have a negative impact.
He presented an overview of UAE security
issues and suggested specific policy initiatives to
enhance security, including strengthening the Gulf
Cooperation Council (GCC), resolving the ambiguous
and contentious border disputes that exist in the
region, and reducing reliance on expatriate labor.
