Jerusalem and the Peace Process in the Middle East

Jerusalem and the Peace Process in the Middle East

  • 27 December 1999

This presentation demonstrated the continuing Judaization of Jerusalem effected by the Israeli government. In addition to the policy of settlement, which is intend to change the features of the holy city, Israel continues to destroy Arab homes, exercising a search policy, and withdrawing identity cards from the Palestinians. It claims that Jerusalem is the “eternal capital” of Israel. Although Israel joined the UN in 1949 under the condition of recognizing the international status of the holy city, it still rejects its status. Jerusalem remains a cornerstone of comprehensive peace.
