The lecture defined monetary policy and its objectives
and how it is linked to economic development. The
Speaker shed light on the monetary policies and trends
of Arab states as well as their economic approaches.
He discussed direct monetary policy vis-a-vis indirect
monetary policy and their relative effect on economic
development.
The speaker examined the nature of the
relationship between monetary policy and fiscal policy
in the Arab countries, and he noted the exchange rate
systems, their development, and their relationship to
monetary policy and economic development at the
level of developing countries in general and the Arab
countries in particular.
