In this lecture, Dr. Moursy, from the Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, discussed the historical development of the Emirates since the invasion of the Portuguese. He consulted Dutch, Arabic, and Portuguese sources to document the commercial and Islamic heritage of the country. He also paid tribute to the strong interest of Sheikh Zayed in preserving both the architectural tradition and also documentary evidence of this development.
