The Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), organisers of the UAE’s leading strategic and social conferences, will be convening the the centre’s 4th Annual Education Conference.

Under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and President of the ECSSR, the 4th Annual Education Conference will convene on Sept. 17–18 at the ECSSR office complex in Abu Dhabi, under the title: “The Future of Education in the UAE: Innovation and Knowledge Production”

The objective of this conference is to support the region’s ongoing efforts to develop an effective and innovative educational system that prepares its students and institutions to contribute to the growing knowledge economy and thus have the skills necessary to be able to compete on an international level.

This conference aims to offer a clear and useful set of recommendations for future education policy. The international scholars invited to the conference will offer the latest theoretical perspectives on educational reform, while experts from within the Middle East will align those theories with the practical realities of current education systems within the region.

Three panels of experts will discuss the topics of innovation, knowledge production and internationalisation.

The conference will begin with a discussion of ways to foster innovation and creative thinking among students; and a second panel will examine the role of the education system in the knowledge economy.

On the second day, experts will discuss the internationalisation of education in the UAE; and a fourth panel will offer students from UAE-based universities the opportunity to reflect on their education and its relation to their future plans.
