The ECSSR hosted the Consultation Workshop on the UNDP-UAE Country Programme 2013-2017 titled ‘Empowered Lives: Resilient Nation’ on December 13-14, 2011, at the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Hall at the ECSSR office complex in Abu Dhabi. Day 1 of the event consisted of five sessions held under the title: ‘UNDP at a Glance: UNDP Global Contributions and Models of Engagement in High Income Countries’. Day 2 covered four sessions. It was entitled: ‘Proposed UNDP Country Programme 2013-2017: Validation and Discussion’.

The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Ahmed M. Gargash, the UAE Minister of State H.E. Reem Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Economy Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehi, Dr. Elissar Sarrouh, UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative (UAE) and several distinguished UNDP and UAE officials and experts participated at the event.
