The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) participated at ‘Building Future Education MENA’, an international exhibition and conference held in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), on October 25–26, 2011 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center.

The ECSSR showcased a select range of its Arabic and English publications. These publications included both original and translated books written by internationally reputed scholars and experts in the fields of energy, international relations, security, and education. Among the ECSSR’s recent releases is Education in the UAE: Current Status and Future Developments, which analyzes the various challenges of educational advancement in the UAE over the coming decades in order to promote high levels of educational attainment, self-confidence, a strong sense of citizenship and a culture of moderation and tolerance among its youth. Another ECSSR publication that was showcased is Education and the Requirements of the GCC Labor Market, which provides a scholarly examination of the relationship between educational output and labor market requirements in the GCC. It explores variables of education–labor market dynamics in an international context, and presents case studies of the relationship between education and the labor market in selected GCC countries, including a review of the various related strategies and policies adopted by these countries.

Featured ECSSR publications also included peer-reviewed monographs in Arabic and English which examine various strategic, political, economic, social and information-related issues, as well as significant regional and global developments. These publications was of great interest to intellectuals, industry experts and researchers specializing in issues affecting the Gulf region, the Middle East and the wider Arab world, and appealed to a wide readership.
