Akhbar Al Sa'a: U.A.E. History is Source of its Strength for Future

  • 25 February 2014

The Akhbar Al Sa'a (News of the Hour) Bulletin has affirmed that the U.A.E. believes that to move forward, permanently looking towards the future and actively engaged in the process of modernisation in different areas, does not mean the abandonment of the heritage of its fathers and ancestors or the authentic culture that characterise the U.A.E. community, exemplifying its cultural identity and strengthening its association with its history.

Under the title: "Our History is a Source of Power Towards the Future" the bulletin said that the Qasr Al Hosn Festival, which kicked off its first session in 2013 to celebrate the passage of more than 250 years since the establishment of this ancient palace, and its second edition which began on 20th of February and runs until the beginning of March, is an outstanding example of the great attention given by the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for heritage and the keenness to keep it alive in the hearts and minds of new generations.

The bulletin, issued by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, added that His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, re-affirmed that, "as we develop and move forward in our economic and social life, we cling to more and more of our past and our ancient history; we look at it with admiration and draw our strength from it toward the future." In conclusion, the bulletin highlighted that to revive the heritage, highlight the achievements and challenge the difficulties in the history of the United Arab Emirates, deepens the U.A.E. citizen's confidence in himself and reinforces his enthusiasm to work in order to maintain the achievements of national development that did not emerge from a vacuum, but from a continued effort through history.
