- 8 April 2014
The Akhbar Al Sa'a (News of the Hour) Bulletin, has affirmed that the visit of H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, to the U.A.E. Forces participating in the Peninsula Shield Force (Gulf Waves 7), represents an important message that the U.A.E. is committed to supporting collective security for the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States (GCC) and is going on to support its brothers in GCC countries to face the forces of extremism and terrorism, which seek to spread chaos and sabotage.
Under the title, "Emirates Constant Commitment to Support Collective Security of Gulf", the bulletin said that the Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, for the U.AE. Forces participating in the Peninsula Shield Force (Gulf Waves 7), stressing the pride and dignity of the people and the Government of the United Arab Emirates, including the part the Forces play in human and national duty.
The bulletin, issued by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, added that this reflects the high appreciation of the U.A.E.'s leadership and people to the efforts of the people of the nation and their sacrifices to support the Kingdom of Bahrain's security and stability. This visit also confirms that the U.A.E. is going on to contribute, to shoulder its responsibilities towards maintaining the security of brothers in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Arab States, in spite of terrorist hands targeting one of its sons, the officer Lieutenant Tariq Mohammed Ahmed Al Shehhi, in a cowardly terrorist incident along with two of his colleagues within the Bahraini security forces in March.
The bulletin concluded that the third constant is to keep the collective security of the Gulf, which represents a guarantee to safeguard the developmental gains that have been achieved for the people of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) over the years. Thus, defence against attempts to undermine and sabotage these gains is to protect them and preserve the rights of present and future generations in development and well-being.
