Abu Dhabi–GCC Health and Development Investment Forum

The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies & Research (ECSSR) hosted the 34;Abu Dhabi–GCC Health and Development Investment Forum; from May 11 to 12, 2009.

The activities of the Forum included presentations, panel discussions, and open sessions. The participants at the forum shared their ideas on best practices with the aim of improving the healthcare system in the UAE and the region.</p>

<p class=”EnglishVerdanaNormal”>The forum assembled an elite group of public and private health sector decision makers, academicians and researchers that specialize in health issues, service providers, investors, non-profit organizations and sovereign wealth funds.</p>

<p class=”EnglishVerdanaNormal”>The Abu Dhabi–GCC Health and Investment Development Forum was sponsored by Abu Dhabi Department of Planning and Economy, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.<br/>
The ECSSR organized a press conference on its convening of the forum on April 28, 2009. Expressing his views on the Center’s hosting of the event, His Excellency Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director-General of the ECSSR, stated that the forum “would make a critical contribution to our knowledge base, policy development, local capacity building and research in that sector, which is of vital interests to the economic and social wellbeing of the UAE and the Gulf region.
